The Emmy nominated Smith will play Daemon Targaryen, the Prince and younger brother to Viserys, King of Westeros. Heir to the throne, he is a formidable fighter and dragonrider.  But he is a Targaryen. When a Targaryen is born, the gods toss a coin in the air.”

Cooke will portray Alicent Hightower, the most beautiful woman in the Seven Kingdoms. She is the daughter of the Hand of King, Otto Hightower, and surrounded by the trappings of power. She “possesses both a courtly grace and a keen political acumen.”

As Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, D’Arcy will play “the king’s first-born child, she is of pure Valyrian blood, and she is a dragonrider. Many would say that Rhaenyra was born with everything … but she was not born a man.”

They join Paddy Considine (Peaky Blinders) who was already cast as King Viserys Targaryen who is described as “a warm, kind and decent man, Viserys only wishes to carry forward his grandfather’s legacy. But good men do not necessarily make for great kings.

House of Fire was ordered by HBO in 2019 but won’t arrive on the network until 2022.
