Elliot Page, star of Juno and Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, formerly known as Ellen Page, just announced he is transgender.
Elliot made the announcement on his social media, telling followers on Instagram:

Page earned an Oscar nomination for his role as Juno in the break out hit of the same name. Jason Reitman directed the 2007 film which was written by Diablo Cody.
He also played roles in big budget Hollywood films such as Kitty Pride in the X-Men franchise and Ariadne in Inception, as well as work in independent and smaller films like Super and The Cured. He has played Vanya on the Netflix adaption of Dark Horse Comics’ The Umbrella Academy since 2019.
Elliot joins a growing number of transgender creators in the entertainment industry, notably Laverne Cox and filmmaking sisters, The Wachowskis. (The Matrix, Speed Racer).
The actor’s IMBD page has already been changed to reflect this announcement.
