Over the years the team at NECA Toys has produced some truly remarkable and innovative toylines, but perhaps one of their best ideas in recent memory is the decision to get animated!
By that we mean their popular Toony Terrors toyline that brought some of our favorite horror icons to life in an all-new style made to look like your favorite classic animated films. Since its launch last year, Toony Terrors has been massively successful and inspired NECA to launch the all-new Toony Classics line, which is similar in concept but quite different in execution. While Toony Terrors brings us figures of classic characters we have never seen in an animated style before, Toony Classics seems to be focused on bringing figures of some of our favorite characters from animated series based on live-action films like Back To The Future (which are in stores now)!
While we first saw many of these items back in February at New York Toy Fair 2020 (which feels like a lifetime ago), NECA recently released new info and images of a number of new items from both the Toony Terrors and Toony Classics lines that we are super excited to take a look at!
First up is Wave 4 of Toony Terrors which brings us four all-new figures from four different licenses! This wave is set to include Victory Crowley from Hatchet, Sam from Trick ‘r Treat, Regan from The Exorcist, and Beetlejuice from (of course) Beetlejuice. These are expected to hit stores before the end of the year, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled while toy hunting!
Series 4 of the adorably creepy Toony Terrors line will bring more stylized horror icons into the mix!
Standing approximately 6 inches tall, the action figure assortment includes Beetlejuice (Beetlejuice), Victor Crowley (Hatchet) with axe accessory, Regan (The Exorcist) with interchangeable head, and Sam (Trick ‘r Treat).

Next up we’ve got some all-new Toony Classics figures with the first ever animated style figures based on Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventures! These figures will be sold as a two-pack featuring our titular heroes Bill S. Preston “Esquire” and Ted “Theodore” Logan, along with guitars and a figure stand. These are also expected to hit the shelves before year’s end!
NECA is proud to introduce Toony Classics, a fun take on beloved characters from film and television.
Starting off the line in a most resplendent way are the Wyld Stallyns themselves from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
Standing approximately 6 inches tall, Bill and Ted’s animated forms are akin to that of their 90s cartoon appearances. These two dudes come packed together rocking out on their favorite instruments.

Last but far from least is the new Toony Classics figure of Ace Ventura! This figure is based on the animated Ace Ventura series that ran for three seasons in the late 1990s. Ace will include two interchangeable heads and a number of animal friends (so he doesn’t get lonely). Toony Classics Ace Ventura from NECA Toys is anticipated to be hitting store shelves this December.
