After two full seasons of Warner Bros Studios live-action comic book adaptation Titans, it looks like the team behind the hit show are hearing fans loud and clear and taking fan feedback to heart with some big changes in store for the upcoming third season!
This week, Warner Brothers’ streaming service HBO Max released a first look at Anna Diop’s new look as Starfire for Titans Season 3! The new full-length photo shows off Starfire’s new comic-inspired supersuit that she will be sporting in the new season, which should come as a welcome change after the series faced pushback from a number of fans for Starfire’s look on the show. As Titans features the first-ever live-action version of DC Comics’ Starfire character, this will be the first time her supersuit has ever been physically adapted.
In addition to the actual photo, HBO Max also released Gina DeDomenico’s original concept art of the costume that was designed by Laura Jean Shannon (who specializes in superhero costume design and has done costumes for various comic book adaptations including Iron Man, The Boys, Stargirl, Preacher, and Doom Patrol).
Treating fans to even more surprises, Titans executive producer Greg Walker also revealed to TVLine that Season 3 will feature Starfire’s sister (and nemesis) Blackfire! The role is set to be played by Damaris Lewis, who is now a series regular for Season 3 of Titans.
Walker said “We’re planning a big season for Kory this year! The arrival of her sister/nemesis Blackfire launches Kory (Starfire) down a path where she uncovers both secrets about her past and clues to her destiny… all of which will lead to her true calling as Starfire. Plus, we have a few other surprises in store for hardcore Starfire fans this season!”
As if Starfire’s new supersuit isn’t enough, HBO Max also recently released our first look at Jason Todd’s new outfit. Titans Season 3 sees Curran Walters’ former Boy Wonder trading in his Robin uniform to become The Red Hood, who looks to be dead set on pushing his old teammates to their limits as a villain this time around.
Season 3 of Titans is set to stream exclusively on HBO Max and is currently in production. The series stars Brenton Thwaites, Teagan Croft, Anna Diop, Ryan Potter, Alan Ritchson, Minka Kelly, Conor Leslie, Curran Walters, Joshua Orpin, and Damaris Lewis
