While it’s finished filming, it will be a while before Jurassic World: Dominion actually gets released to the masses. In the meantime, thankfully, Jurassic World fans are still able to get their fix of dinosaurs running amok with the animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous!

The Netflix exclusive Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is brought to life through a collaborative effort between Dreamworks Animation and Netflix that takes us back to Isla Nublar and the Jurassic World theme park for a few more adventures that take place before the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (which saw the island absolutely decimated by a volcanic eruption).

The first season of the show released to solid reviews across the board as a family-friendly and entertaining series that Jurassic fans of all ages can enjoy. While Season 1 was only released a short while ago (last fall in September 2020), Season 2 is almost here with new episodes releasing later this month.

An all-new clip for Season 2 was recently released via Collider that showcases everyone’s favorite bipedal carnivore that we have loved since she first graced the big screen back in 1993, Rexy the Tyrannosaurus! You can check out the new clip below.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous follows the adventures of a group of kids that were thrown together as part of a special summer camp program at the legendary Jurassic World theme park. The first season of the show takes place before and during the events of the first Jurassic World film, which also sadly means that the kids were on the island when all hell –and all the dinosaurs — broke loose. The kids find themselves stranded and alone on the other side of the island and are trying to make their way back in time to be evacuated with the rest of the park guests.

Unfortunately for them (but fortunately for us as viewers), they missed the boat, meaning Season 2 will be picking up with our heroes stranded on the now-abandoned Isla Nublar with most (if not all) of the dinosaurs running loose. Will they be able to survive long enough for help to arrive? Will help even be coming? We will just have to watch the show to find out!

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous stars the voices of Paul-Mike’l Williams, Jenna Ortega, Kausar Mohammed, Sean Giambrone, Raini Rodriguez, and Ryan Potter. The show is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, Frank Marshall, Scott Kreamer, and Aaron Hammersley, the latter two of which also serve as showrunners for this animated series.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix on January 22, 2021. Hopefully, a Season 3 announcement won’t be too far behind then?
