Dune, the new adaption of the classic sci-fi novel by Frank Herbert, has already reached theaters in parts of the world. It arrives in North American theaters in four weeks and on HBO Max. Now there’s a new trailer from China, and it is filled with almost completely unseen footage.

If you aren’t familiar with the book, it tells the story of House Atreides, one of the great moral houses of the universe, as they assume control of the desert world, Arrakis. Arrakis, or Dune, is the source of Spice Melange. You can check it out below.

This new trailer gives some amazing looks at the desert world and the source of Spice Melange. Spice Melange, a fungal narcotic, allows for a higher consciousness and facilitates the navigation of interstellar space. Without it, the Imperium, the human empire of the known universe, could not exist. It also shows just how hard it is to harvest the spice. It also features the armies of House Harkonnen preparing to battle the forces of House Atreides for control of desert power.

We also hear Timothy Chalamet’s Paul Atreides use ‘the voice’ for the first time.

We also get Jason Momoa playing Duncan Idaho, swordmaster to House Atreides and right-hand man to Duke Leto, in the upcoming Dune adaptation. Check out this behind the scenes feature the Aquaman actor has shared, highlighting how he has trained to become the sworn protector to the Atreides

A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence-a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential-only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

Dune arrives in theatres and on HBO Max on October 22.
