SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t watched Masters of the Universe: Revelation Part 1, this article WILL contain SPOILERS! So turn back now, or proceed with caution.

Netflix’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation is headed back with new episodes sooner than expected!  Part 1, comprised of five episodes, arrived on July 23.  Now, it has been announced that Part 2 will hit the streaming service on November 23, four months later exactly.

The series is a semi-sequel to the original Filmation series, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.  But there’s a reason He-Man’s name doesn’t appear in the title of this new show.

Part 1 ended with Skeletor finally acquiring the Power of Grayskull and emerging as Skelegod.  It also ended with He-Man dead.

It’s Skelegod that is front and center in the new poster that Netflix released to tout the upcoming release of Part 2:

While Skelegod looks cool, he debuted at the end of Part 1, so we’ve already seen him.  Viewers might be far more intrigued by what’s happening around him in this poster.  For starters, it looks like Teela will at long last inherit the power of The Sorceress, her birth mother (although Teela doesn’t know that).

Above Evil-Lyn’s head appears some sort of bat-like silhouette.  Could that be Batros?  Man, that would be a deep cut!

Speaking of deep cuts, in the foreground appears what may be the deepest cut and may indicate that this show will not be 100% He-Man-free for long.  Yes, that looks like the original barbarian He-Man, the version of the character that appeared in the very first mini-comics that came packed in with the first wave of action figures way back in 1981.

There was no Prince Adam.  In this book, He-Man was a barbarian-type character from a tribe of similar fur-wearers, who left his village in search of adventure.  After saving a “goddess” (a green-skinned version of the Teela action figure), he is gifted with his famous metal harness– the original source of his superpowers– other weapons, and the Sky Sled.  But NOT the Sword of Power.  That had a different role in the original story.

Part 1 showcased various versions of He-Man– He-Ro, King Grayskull, Vikor, and Wun-Dar.  Now it looks as though one more is on his way.  This one is referred to as “Savage He-Man” according to the upcoming Mattel action figure.

(Yes, “Savage He-Man” was also the name for the figure that would go on to be called Wun-Dar.)

Now the question is: Is this a new character or the revived/reincarnated form of the previous He-Man?

Guess we’ll find out in a little over a month when Masters of the Universe: Revelation Part 2 arrives on Netflix on November 23.
