POP-POP! While fans of the cult-hit sitcom Community got their “6 Seasons” of the show, they have been waiting half a decade for the “And A Movie” aspect to come to fruition. While the movie is supposedly still in the works, fans seem to have grown a little tired of waiting and have decided to take things into their own hands for a trip back to Greendale Campus.

In a move that is absolutely “Streets Ahead”, several Community fans have come together to build and launch an all-new video game based on the fan-favorite series. To top it all off, they’ve released it for free! The game, simply titled 6 Seasons And A Game, takes players to a virtual recreation of Greendale Community College Campus for an online first-person-shooter game that is themed around the classic Community setting in a massive paintball game!

6 Seasons And A Game, which is available to download now on Steam, is jam-packed with fanservice and references to the show. Many inside jokes are peppered all over the digital campus like the secret trampoline and a statue of Greendale’s most famous former student Luis Guzman! Players can enjoy the massive map of the Greendale Community College Campus in games for up to 16-players in team-based FPS paintball competitions. The game was created by a group of Community fans that are releasing the game under the name “The Human Beings.”

It seems quite fitting that our first-ever Community video game (even if it is an unofficial fan release) would focus on paintball, considering how heavily the Dan Harmon sitcom leaned on the game as a story device on an average of once every season (technically Season 5 didn’t get a paintball episode, but Season 2 had a two-parter so it evens out). The paintball episodes were always some of the most fun the show could have, letting go of reality and just enjoying the ride with episodes parodying various film genres including action, westerns, sci-fi, and noir.

Before you get too worried, yes fans can absolutely play as their favorite characters from the show including Jeff, Annie, Britta, Troy, Abed, Shirley, Pierce, and Chang! The gang is all here in stylized digital form even if they don’t have likeness rights! Check out the game’s trailer below.

Unfortunately, as a fan-made video game,  6 Seasons And A Game is not actually affiliated or approved by Sony who owns the rights to the Community series. No one actually involved in the creation or production of the show has signed off on the game, which means that it could be pulled from Steam literally at any time that Sony decides to file a copyright claim; leaving us truly trapped in the Darkest Timeline.

That said, 6 Seasons And A Game seems to be a labor of love from a team that just really appreciates Community. The Human Beings look to have made the game with good intentions and released it for no cost so that they are not profiting off an IP they do not have the rights to. So maybe Sony will let it slide? Knowing Sony has their own game studios, in the brightest timeline they could theoretically pick up where The Human Beings leave off and release their own paintball-themed Community online first-person-shooter.  We just really hope they don’t Britta this whole thing.

As of now, 6 Seasons And A Game is available to download for free on Steam but is only playable on Windows. The developers currently are considering releasing a version for Mac, but it is not a priority for them at this time.

Will you be checking out this free fan made game based on Community? Would you play this if it received an official wide release? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below and stick around for all of the latest Community updates!
