In the name of the moon, she’ll punish you! Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon is back with an all-new movie that fans of the long-running anime series are sure to love.
The first trailer for the all-new film, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie was released online this week.
Back in 2014 the Sailor Moon story was revamped with an all-new anime series, Sailor Moon Crystal. This freshly animated take retold the story from the original manga books, which had previously been loosely adapted with plenty of filler content in the original anime series. The show ran for three seasons from 2014 through 2016.
Instead of returning for additional seasons, the story of Sailor Moon Crystal will be wrapping up in two all-new films that will tackle the Dead Moon storyline from the original manga series.

The creator of the series, Naoko Takeuchi, is supervising both films with Chiaki Kon (who directed the third season of Sailor Moon Crystal) on directing duty. The entire voice cast of Sailor Moon Crystal is confirmed as returning along with some new additions that are voicing the film’s new characters.
Having been in the works for several years, this two-part film project is a huge undertaking that will bring the franchise back to the forefront of the anime world bigger than ever!
The first of these two films, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie Part 1, is set for a theatrical release in Japan on January 8, 2021. The second film, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie Part 2, is set to release just a few weeks later on February 11, 2021. As of the time of this writing, there is no word as to when fans can expect an English-language release of either film.
